Just Move Universal Outreach

Purpose: To offer transitional services and other necessary resources to address the main decencies in life for all persons impacted by incarceration.

A part of what we do is be involved in our respective communities. We have a viable community outreach founded by Crown and C-Wise. I can tell you firsthand that it is necessary. SC Department Juvenile Justice uses Just Move Universal Outreach as a go-to for mentoring. In my volunteering, I have seen many referrals sent to Just Move Universal Outreach Lowcountry. The referrals are piling up and the need for additional certified mentors will help aid the children in need. Here in Charleston, Crown, and his team do weekly visits to do group and peer-to-peer mentoring sessions that allow participants to share in their environment where they can freely express their feelings, thoughts, and fears within a supportive and understanding community. We have to remember that these kids may have contact with gangs and rivalry retaliation can occur. Teaching them how to channel their energy into positive motives and learning to talk things out will help prevent damaging results that can deter their future.

A key part of our work involves active engagement in our local communities. Crown and C-Wise have established a successful community outreach program, which I can attest to as essential. The SC Department of Juvenile Justice and Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services, frequently collaborates with Just Move Universal Outreach for mentoring. As a volunteer, I have observed a growing number of referrals being directed to Just Move Universal Outreach Lowcountry. The increasing number of referrals underscores the urgent need for more certified mentors to support children in need.

Here in Charleston, Crown and his team conduct weekly group and peer-to-peer mentoring sessions while feeding them. These sessions provide participants with a safe space to share their feelings, thoughts, and fears in a supportive and understanding community environment. By teaching them how to redirect their energy towards positive pursuits and encouraging open communication, we can help prevent harmful outcomes that could impact their future. Just Move Universal Outreach Midlands is involved with the school system by partnering with educators to provide mentoring. C-Wise and his team visit local communities by sponsoring events to inspire and motivate the need for community awareness and oneness. These are some examples of what they are doing, however, they are doing more and need dedicated individuals with like-minded goals to partake in the endeavors presented.
